SaveOnEnergy has 20 years of experience working with various top-tier providers in deregulated markets. Because there are dozens of providers, hundreds of plans, and constantly changing rates, our reviews are not based on first-hand experience. We encourage customers to do their own research, compare multiple plans, and consider their individual priorities when choosing which provider is the best fit for them.

TXU Energy FAQs

  • Some TXU Energy plans require a deposit, but no-deposit options are also available. For example, with the FlexPower plan, you can pay small amounts at your own pace, and you won’t have a fixed monthly bill or late fee.

  • That will depend on the type of plan you sign up for. Fixed-rate plans include an early termination fee that varies from $150 for 12-month plans to $395 for 36-month fixed-rate plans. Variable-rate plans don’t have cancellation fees.

  • In its current form, TXU Energy has operated since 2002. The original company was the Dallas Electricity Lighting Company, which has a history dating back to 1882.

  • Yes, like most electricity providers in Texas, TXU carries out a credit check. Depending on the result of the check, you may have to pay a deposit. If you want to avoid paying a deposit, you could consider a no-deposit or prepaid energy plan. TXU’s FlexPower option is one example of this.

  • That will depend on your energy needs and the type of customer you are. TXU offers plans tailored for both residential and commercial customers. You can also choose between fixed-rate plans for price stability and variable-rate options for more short-term flexibility. Customers committed to the environment can choose a green energy option. The SaveOnEnergy marketplace allows you to compare all these options and more in one location.

  • If you move outside of TXU’s service area, you can cancel your plan without having to pay an ETF. However, if you move to a location where TXU provides services, you can move your plan to your new address. If you’ll be ending your contract early with your move, you’ll have to pay a cancellation fee.

  • The prices shown on SaveOnEnergy include all charges, apart from government taxes and fees.

  • We make this process easy at SaveOnEnergy. Just enter your ZIP code on this page to see the energy plans offered in your area. Then, select TXU Energy from the filter options. Once you’ve chosen the plan you like best, sign up by providing your details in a matter of minutes.
