SaveOnEnergy has 20 years of experience working with various top-tier providers in deregulated markets. Because there are dozens of providers, hundreds of plans, and constantly changing rates, our reviews are not based on first-hand experience. We encourage customers to do their own research, compare multiple plans, and consider their individual priorities when choosing which provider is the best fit for them.

Frontier Utilities FAQs

  • When you sign up for a plan, Frontier Utilities will carry out a credit check and may require a deposit if you don’t meet its requirements. To avoid paying a deposit, you can choose a no-deposit or prepaid energy plan such as Frontier’s Power-as-You-Go plan. You may also be able to avoid paying a deposit if you’re over 65 or a victim of domestic violence.

  • You’ll generally only need to pay a cancellation fee if you want to end a fixed-rate plan before its termination date. Frontier’s ETFs are $150 for a 12-month plan and $200 for a 24-month plan. You can avoid the fee if you move out of Frontier’s service area.

  • The answer to this question depends on your personal preferences and energy needs. If you like knowing how the rate you’ll pay for energy each month, a fixed-rate plan may be best. Lower rates may be available with a variable-rate plan during certain months, but you can also be left with a hefty bill when demand spikes in the summer. Frontier also offers specialized plans for free nights or weekends, which may fit your usage habits better.

  • Frontier offers energy plans for residential and business customers. If you’re a resident, you can access fixed-rate and variable-rate plans. Commercial customers can customize a Frontier energy plan to meet their needs.
