Southwest Power and Light FAQs

  • Yes, Southwest Power and Light requires a deposit to initiate service. However, after one year of on-time payments, the REP will apply the deposit back to your account. If you don’t want to pay a deposit, consider signing up with an electricity company that offers no-deposit plans.

  • You may need to pay an early termination fee (ETF) if you have a fixed-rate plan and cancel it before your contract is up. However, you shouldn’t need to pay an ETF if you cancel because you’re moving out of the company’s service area.

  • There are several ways to pay your Southwest Power and Light bill, including online, by mail, by phone, or in person. You can also sign up for autopay.

  • You can reach Southwest Power and Light by calling 1-866-941-7975. Agents are available Monday through Friday (except for holidays) between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. CT.
