SaveOnEnergy has 20 years of experience working with various top-tier providers in deregulated markets. Because there are dozens of providers, hundreds of plans, and constantly changing rates, our reviews are not based on first-hand experience. We encourage customers to do their own research, compare multiple plans, and consider their individual priorities when choosing which provider is the best fit for them.

Discount Power FAQs
Like many electricity providers, Discount Power runs a credit check. If your score doesn’t meet their threshold, you’ll have to pay a deposit to start your service. You can explore no-deposit plans in your area on the SaveOnEnergy marketplace if you’d prefer to avoid this initial fee.
Discount Power customer service is available every day between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. CDT. You should call 1-877-455-4674.
The first step is to enter your ZIP code on the SaveOnEnergy marketplace so we can show you all the plans available in your area. Then, select Discount Power from the “providers” option in our search filter. You’ll find the Discount Power plans for your area to compare. You can read through the Electricity Facts Label of each plan to learn more and get signed up online once you’ve made your choice.
The best Discount Power electric plan will depend on your personal energy needs. If you’re looking for something long-term and predictable, you’ll want a fixed-rate plan. If you need something more flexible, consider a variable-rate plan. Take into account the size of your home and your typical energy usage before committing to a plan. Check out our guide to energy usage to help calculate how much electricity you use.
Discount Power has provided electricity plans to customers since the start of energy deregulation in Texas in 2002.
