Stream Energy FAQs

  • Yes, Stream will typically charge a deposit before your service gets started. If you’d rather avoid paying a deposit, you can check out available no-deposit electricity plans in your area.

  • Each customer will have their own answer to this question. Stream Energy offers several plans tailored to different people’s needs. For instance, you can get a 100% green energy plan if you prioritize using clean energy. Alternatively, if your focus is locking in a rate for the longer term, you can opt for a 36-month fixed-rate plan.

  • If you move to an address within Stream Energy’s service area, you can take your electricity plan with you to your new home. Just contact Stream Energy in advance of your move to arrange the transfer. If you move outside of the company’s service area, you can end your contract without paying the early termination fee.

  • If you’re on a fixed-rate plan and choose to end your contract before it expires, you’ll have to pay a fee. The fee varies from $150 for 12-month contracts to $395 for a 36-month contract. If you have one of Stream Energy’s variable-rate plans, you won’t have to pay a fee to terminate it.
