AEP Texas FAQs
Numerous top providers operate in AEP’s territory, including 4Change Energy, Frontier Utilities, TXU Energy, Gexa Energy, and more. The best provider depends on your energy needs and will likely differ for every customer. Give our team a call to discuss your priorities and learn the best fit for you.
AEP does not sell energy plans in Texas. The Lone Star State’s deregulation laws prohibit utility companies from selling electricity. Instead, consumers must purchase energy from a retail electric provider.
AEP Texas charges a fee to deliver electricity to homes and businesses, similar to all Texas utility companies. AEP charges a flat fee for the billing cycle and a fee for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy consumed. Right now, AEP’s charges are $4.79 per month and 2.18 cents per kWh. Utility fees change twice yearly on March 1 and September 1. Check your plan’s Electricity Facts Label to learn your delivery fees.
